Refund Policy
Last updated 28 July 2026
The short version. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no card is required, so you can evaluate Sovura fully before paying anything. Because of that, payments are generally non-refundable — but your statutory rights as a consumer still apply, and we would rather fix a problem than keep money from an unhappy customer.
1. Try before you pay
Every Sovura plan begins with a 14-day free trial. No payment card is needed to start it, and you are not charged when it ends — you only pay if you actively choose a plan. This is deliberate: it means you can test every module against your own community before any money changes hands.
2. General position on refunds
Outside the statutory rights described in section 3, subscription payments and Founding Membership purchases are non-refundable, including:
- partial months or unused time after you cancel;
- periods where you did not use the Service, or used less of it than expected;
- metered usage charges that have already been incurred;
- accounts suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms of Service.
When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You are not billed again after that.
3. Your statutory cancellation rights
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a legal right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days of entering it, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and equivalent EU law. Nothing in this policy removes that right.
Because the Service is supplied digitally and immediately, when you subscribe you are asked to agree that supply begins straight away. Where you have agreed, and the service has been fully supplied within the cancellation period, the statutory right to cancel is lost. Where supply has only partly happened, we will refund on a proportionate basis for what remains.
If you are buying as a business, these consumer cancellation rights do not apply.
4. When we will refund anyway
We would rather resolve a problem than argue about a policy. We will normally issue a refund where:
- you were charged in error — for example billed after cancelling, charged twice, or charged on the wrong plan;
- a sustained fault on our side made the Service materially unusable for a significant part of a billing period and we could not fix it;
- you were charged following a renewal you had already asked us to stop.
Sovura is currently pre-alpha. We take the second point above seriously and will apply it generously during this period.
5. Founding Membership
Founding Membership (Pro Lifetime) is a one-time purchase, limited in number. It is treated the same as any other payment under this policy: your statutory cancellation rights apply, and beyond those it is non-refundable.
If we ever discontinue the Service, Founding Members are covered by the same commitments as every other customer — six months' notice and a full data export — as described in our Continuity Promise.
6. Chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback typically results in the account being suspended while it is investigated, which is slower and worse for you than us simply refunding a mistake.
7. How to request a refund
Email billing@sovura.app from the address on the account, with your organisation name and the charge you are asking about. We aim to respond within five working days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and typically take 5–10 working days to appear, depending on your bank.
